This position will be located in Newport News, VA.
This is a great opportunity to join a fast paced team of Engineers, Designers, Planners and PMA's that support Facility operations at Newport News Shipbuilding.
This position requires an individual that is motivated and can work in a team environment to meet the needs of the planning activity for maintenance operations at NNS.
What You Will Do Ensure the effective and efficient support of maintenance work center productivity through proper planning, scheduling and coordination of equipment, materials and manpower.
Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and work packages.
Coordinates material to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
Timely and accurate backlog management of AOR.
Provide accurate and timely schedules to work center foremen.
Effectively order materials to support work centers.
Provide planning support for work centers and contractors.
Act as lead scheduler for work center.
Achieve schedule commitments and FTQ for work packages.
What You Must Have 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
Computer experience including MS Office suite products Some experience with production planning Bonus Points For Having! Familiar with Newport News Shipbuilding process and procedures Experience with SAP or similar planning software Ability to multitask and support a variety of planning areas of responsibility Ability to work independently and support multiple internal customers Ability to work onsite at NNS inside the industrial facility with some hybrid capabilities Physical Requirements Job performance may require lifting and moving of furniture, supplies and equipment.
