Building Maintenance Technician STARTING SALARY:
$12/hr for 90 day preliminary period (negotiable based on experience) JOB
Summary:
This position is responsible for performing building maintenance and upkeep in church building.
Some light interior and exterior painting, light repair work, light plumbing work, and occasional yard work are required.
Some electrical knowledge preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Good client/customer service skills.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to work effectively with a team.
Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort.
Basic painting and repair skills.
Light plumbing and electrical knowledge or willingness to learn.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Six months or more related experience.
Valid Driver's License or legal form of identification required.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The work is performed in the church building, on both floors at 5501 Huntington Avenue, Newport News, VA 23607.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work requires routine walking, standing, bending and carrying items weighing less than fifty pounds and/or utilizing a ladder for higher reach projects.
