Entry Level Who We AreHII Mission Technologies is seeking a Specification Writer 2 to develop procedures used for the operation of equipment and systems aboard aircraft carriers, and other manuals used for training of personnel and maintenance of these systems.
As new or modernized equipment is installed aboard carriers, the Specification Writer examines the technical documentation (drawings, specification sheets, etc.
) and procedures (technical manuals, component procedures and descriptions, etc.
) supplied by vendors and system/equipment design engineers and agencies to develop standardized procedures and manuals to be used by personnel aboard the carrier and maintenance personnel who will be maintaining and testing these systems.
The Specification Writer works with other writers, engineers, production planners, Navy and the project managers to ensure the best and complete information is made available to the carrier personnel.
What You Will Do Prepares specifications from engineering change notices, customer specifications, and/or published data sheets.
Maintains customer specifications files; reviews customer drawings and data; translates customer language into standard procedures and product flow.
Be able to read drawings, communicate clearly and write procedures to assemble and disassemble equipment Aircraft carrier experience is a positive to have but not required.
Any experience operating or maintaining equipment onboard carriers.
The ability to grasp the concepts of equipment description and operation and TMCR contract requirements for content.
Onsite working in office for training and remote working is available when sufficient in your job duties.
What You Must Have Candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
Candidate must have proficiency in the use of personal computers using word processing, graphics, and desktop publishing software.
Candidate must have the ability to grasp the concepts of equipment description and operation and TMCR contract requirements for content Candidate must have strong editorial skills Candidate must be able to read drawings, communicate clearly and write procedures to assemble and disassemble equipment Candidate must have knowledge and experience in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe.
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Candidate must be a U.
S.
Citizen.
Bonus Points Experience using Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) is highly desired.
