In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in crafting outstanding digital experiences while applying your experience in Penpot/Figma, HTML, CSS, and wireframing.
Your expertise will play a key role in shaping the future of user-friendly software applications.
This position is located in Newport News, VA with a potential of telework 25%, and you will have the unique opportunity to work on the UNICORN program, supporting the Air Force Intelligence programs.
You'll be an integral part of a Scrum environment, driving innovation and delivering cutting-edge solutions for the Department of Defense.
Collaborate closely with your fellow team members to create innovative and visually captivating interfaces that will make a significant impact in the realm of digital design and user experience.
This position will require you to attain and maintain a US Government/DoD security clearance; a US citizenship is required.
Primary ResponsibilitiesAs a UI/UX Software Developer, your daily duties and responsibilities will include:
Collaborating closely with the development team to create stunning UI and UX designs.
Utilizing your proficiency in Penpot, Figma, HTML, and CSS to design and implement user interfaces.
Wireframing and prototyping to craft intuitive and efficient user experiences.
Ensuring that design elements are aligned with industry best practices and responsive across different devices.
Participating in usability testing and incorporating feedback to continuously improve designs.
Basic QualificationsTo be considered for this role, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
A Bachelor of Science degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 0-2 years of relevant UI/UX development experience.
Ability to obtain a US Government DoD TS SCI clearance (US citizenship).
Proficiency in design tools such as Penpot and Figma, showcasing a strong portfolio of previous UI/UX projects.
A solid grasp of HTML and CSS to translate designs into functional web interfaces.
Experience with wireframing and prototyping to create user-friendly and visually appealing designs.
A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating outstanding user experiences.
The ability to collaborate effectively with the development team and other stakeholders.
A commitment to staying updated on industry trends and best practices in UI/UX design.
Preferred QualificationsWhile not required, the following skills and experiences are considered advantageous:
Knowledge of JavaScript for interactive UI elements.
Familiarity with user research and usability testing.
Experience with responsive design and mobile application design.
Understanding of accessibility standards and guidelines.
