Answer telephone and screen calls.
Schedules appointments for the physicians and clinicians.
Prepare new patient charts.
Call and verify insurance benefits and authorization.
Pull charts and prepare them for the physician or clinician.
Send reminder appointment two days prior to appointment Fax the release to the primary care doctor that the patient was seen in the office Collect co-pay from patient at check-in Make copies of demographic information from new patient appointments to be entered in the system At the end of the day make sure all encounter forms have been collected, payments balanced, and the money box locked in the cabinet.
Complete end-of-day balancing sheet.
File charts as they are returned to the reception area from the physician or clinician.
Check fax machine on a regular basis.
Maintain a neat working area Make sure that waiting/reception area is tidied up at the end of each day.
Maintain strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations or without notice.
