Applicants must have at least 2 years experience in purchasing and procurement functions.
The Procurement Agent independently manages the timely and cost-effective procurement of products and services to support DTA operations.
Responsibilities include tracking procurement actions, ensuring accuracy in purchase orders, and providing daily updates to the Warehouse and Procurement Manager.
Essential Functions and
Responsibilities:
- Ensure accuracy of all purchase orders and follow up on requisitions.
- Evaluate marketplace conditions and vendor opportunities.
- Maintain supplier relationships and facilitate procurement of equipment, tools, parts, and lubricants.
- Coordinate with vendors for product information, pricing, and availability.
- Review purchase requisitions for quality and cost balance.
- Track quotes and spending trends using Excel spreadsheets.
- Quantify cost savings from competitive bids and report to the Manager.
- Prepare and track purchase orders, reorder warehouse stock as needed.
- Evaluate order frequency to optimize inventory management.
- Maintain organized filing of purchase orders and quotes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications and Credentials:
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
- Two years of purchasing experience, IBM Maximo experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Ability to multitask, adapt to change, and learn new software programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet navigation.
Abilities and Competencies Essential to the Job:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Physical capability to perform job duties, including repetitive motions and occasional lifting.
Working Conditions:
- Typically in a climate-controlled environment.
- Valid Virginia driver's license required for off-site travel in a company vehicle.
