Facilities Engineer - Mechanical (GIS)

Plans, designs and oversees the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities. Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility. Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition. Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs. Inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.
Establish and implement facilities engineering Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data development projects including coordinating stakeholder meetings and determining data and usage requirements. Develop processes for collecting geospatial data and integrating it with the GIMMS geodatabase.
Evaluate engineering business processes and identify opportunities for efficiencies using geospatial technologies. Assist with the development of requirements for end-user engineering applications. Develop mapping products for planning, engineering and related projects. Coordinate the integration of mapping projects such as P&IDs, GIS, engineering drawings, etc.

Candidate must have 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.
Mechanical Engineering degree with Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) is required.
Candidate will be expected to obtain licensure as a Professional Engineering (PE).
o Familiarity with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio, and ESRI enterprise GIS applications (SDE, and ArcGIS for Server).
o Experience with graphics and cartography, including the ability to generate GIS-based mapping products.
o One year experience using ESRI software (ArcGIS for Desktop) to create and manage geospatial data for plant utility systems.
o Knowledge of surveying techniques and familiarity with hand held data collection devices.
o Specific knowledge of Trimble handheld collection devices and associated pathfinder software.
o Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
